Jean Bruce
Jean Bruce (actually Jean Alexandre Brochet , born March 22, 1921 , † March 26, 1963 ) was a French writer .
Bruce was mainly known for his stories about the secret agent Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath alias OSS 117 , of which he wrote 91 until his death. In addition, he wrote other popular literature, of which a smaller series around the vicôme is the best known.
Prior to that, Bruce had worked as a pilot, mayor's assistant, traveling actor, secretary to an Indian dignitary, and jeweler; He was able to implement these diverse experiences in his books, which dealt with realistic contemporary milieu and geographically broadly.
As a keen athlete, he went skiing, riding and rallying. He died in a car accident.
The series around OSS 117 was continued by his wife Josette († 1996) and then by their children François and Martine until 1996.
