Jean Comandon
Jean Comandon (born August 3, 1877 in Jarnac , † October 30, 1970 in Sèvres ) was a French doctor , naturalist and pioneer of microphotography and microscopic film.
In 1908 he invented microphotography. He was one of the first to use film for scientific purposes, especially in ethnology and botany . He filmed and photographed the movements and growth of the cells with a microscope to which a photo or film camera was connected.
In 1926 he took over the management of the biological laboratory for scientific cinematography founded by Albert Kahn . His film archive with more than 400 films is located in the Pasteur Institute .
