The Jean Frey AG was a Swiss media company based in Zurich. Axel Springer Schweiz AG , headquartered in Zurich, emerged from the merger of Jean Frey AG and the Handelszeitung publishing house in 2007 .

From 2002 to the end of 2006, the then National Councilor Filippo Leutenegger was the CEO of the Jean Frey Group .

Takeover

The main shareholders of Jean Frey AG at the end of 2006 were the financier Tito Tettamanti (32 percent), the former publisher of the business newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft Gerhart Isler (32 percent) and Board President Martin Wagner (10 percent). The remaining 26 percent of the share capital was distributed among various smaller shareholders (less than 5 percent). At the beginning of 2007, the company was sold to Axel Springer AG and subsequently renamed Axel Springer Schweiz AG .

The company originally also owned the news magazine Die Weltwoche (editor-in-chief Roger Köppel ), in which Jean Frey held a 40 percent stake in 2006. As a result of the sale of the 40 percent share in Weltwoche prior to the takeover , this went entirely to Roger Köppel.
