history

In 1897 the company was founded in Eltville by Johann Baptist Müller, known as Jean. Initially involved in the installation of electrical systems, Jean Müller recognized early on that protecting lines and systems from short circuits and overloads was very important. That is why he himself began to manufacture melt strips and fuses based on the Siemens / Schuckert patent from 1901 and to further develop this technology.

The fuse technology is the basis of the business to this day, the product portfolio has been expanded over the years with fuse bases, accessories, fused switchgear and matching housings.

The company was spared major war damage between 1939 and 1945; in 1946, 100 employees produced fuses. Sales corresponded to EUR 0.5 million.

In 2002 the family company moved into a new main plant in Eltville. Today it is the largest industrial employer in the Rheingau and a training company for technical and commercial professions.
