Jean Stéfanini

Jean Stéfanini (* 1917 ; † 1985 ) was a French Romance studies and linguist.

life and work

Stéfanini was of Corsican origin, grew up in Marseille and studied in Aix-en-Provence with Auguste Brun and Georges Lote . He completed his habilitation in 1960 with Robert-Léon Wagner with the two theses La Voix pronominale en ancien et en moyen français (Aix-en-Provence 1962) and Un provençaliste marseillais. L'Abbé Féraud 1725-1807 (Gap 1969, dedicated to the memory of Auguste Brun and Jean Boutière ). From 1963 he was a professor in Aix-en-Provence .
