Jean Vuillermoz

Jean Vuillermoz (born December 29, 1906 in Monaco , † June 21, 1940 near Drachenbronn-Birlenbach ) was a French composer .

Life

The son of the horn player Louis-Edouard Vuillermoz studied from 1925 at the Paris Conservatory with Henri Busser and Henri Rabaud . In 1932 he won the Second Second Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Le Pardon .

He was one of the organizers of the 1935 Fêtes du Peuple , worked for the radio and founded a university choir in Paris in 1938 . In 1939 he was called up for military service and fell on June 21, 1940 while on patrol on the Maginot Line near Drachenbronn.
