After his death, several of his works were indexed by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith , such as Le Chrestien Interieur in 1689 and Les Oeuvres spirituelles in 1690 (initially in the Italian translations ll Christiano interiore or Opere Spirituali ).

The German mystic of Reformed Pietism Gerhard Tersteegen (1697–1769) translated his works for the first time in 1727.

Quotes

"If there is pure love on earth, it is to be found in the heart that loves its humiliation."

- From: Jean de Bernieres-Louvigny - The Inner Christ

“The virtues, which are shown through external works, are very easy to practice, because they are easily done outside of man on our part and with the approval of others; but the virtues that exist only in suffering bring great hardships with them, such as B. Endure shame and ridicule, be patient and give up on yourself. "
