Jean de la Brète

Jean de La Brète , pseudonym for Alice Cherbonnel (* 1858 in Saumur , Maine-et-Loire , † 1945 in Breuil-Bellay , Maine-et-Loire) was a French writer.

Life

La Brète was the daughter of a Norman craftsman and his wife from Anjou .

Her first literary attempts reached back to her school days. She wrote for girls and young women and achieved her greatest success with her novel Mon oncle et mon curé .
