Jeanne Bessert

Jeanne Bessert (1817 or 1818 - September 3, 1856 ) was a citizen of Geneva who lived in Le Locle . She was the mother of six children.

Bessert was shot on September 3, 1856 by Gustav Jeanneret, who tried together with other royalist soldiers in the course of the Neuchâtel trade to occupy La Chaux-de-Fonds .

The affair of the murder of Jeanne Bessert had a significant impact in diplomatic circles.
