Jeanne Blum
Jeanne Blum (born December 11, 1899 in Paris as Jeanne Levylier , also known as Janot ; † July 3, 1982 in Jouy-en-Josas near Paris) was a French educator, school founder and the last wife of Léon Blum , who was French Prime Minister several times was.
Life
Jeanne Blum grew up in Paris. At 16, she met her great cousin Léon Blum and fell in love with him. Since then both have been friends. In 1919 she married the lawyer Henry Torrès , with whom she had two children. The marriage failed. In 1933 she married the businessman Henri Reichenbach, who died of suicide in 1940. Since 1940 she was Léon Blum's mistress .
When Léon Blum, who was a leading head of the French resistance, was deported to Germany by Pierre Laval in 1943 after the Riom trial (February 19, 1942 to May 21, 1943) and from May 1943 to April 1945 in the Falkenhof of the Buchenwald concentration camp as prominent "honorary prisoner" was interned, Jeanne Blum followed him voluntarily in 1943 to Buchenwald, where she married him in captivity that same year. Janot, as she was called by her friends, was married to Léon Blum until his death in 1950.
After the liberation of Paris , the Blum couple settled in Jouy-en-Josas in the house that Jeanne had bought in 1938.
After the death of Léon Blum, Jeanne Blum carried out extensive research to develop a method of communication and expression that she called Horizontal Complementarity . Her work L'homme collectif et evanescent appeared on this subject in 1980 .
In 1974, Blum founded the École Jeanne Blum in Jouy-en-Josas , a school at which school leavers and adults are prepared for paramedical professions. Her method of horizontal complementarity is also used in the École Jeanne Blum .
On July 3, 1982, at the age of 83, Blum killed herself from a drug overdose in her home in Jouy-en-Josas near Paris . She had previously burned numerous documents. Her correspondence with Léon Blum from 1940 to 1943 was maintained.

The Blum couple's house has been preserved and has been a museum since 1986.
The École Jeanne Blum still exists today, it celebrated its 40th birthday on June 20, 2014.
