Jeff Nygaard (born August 3, 1972 in Madison, Wisconsin ) is a retired American volleyball and beach volleyball player . He took part in the Olympic Games three times .
Career
Jeff Nygaard played for the US national team from 1993 to 2000 . He won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Greece in 1994 and took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , where he was eliminated after the preliminary round. He then switched to beach volleyball and has played on the AVP Tour since 2001 . He also played internationally with Dain Blanton in 2003 and 2004. Blanton / Nygaard finished fifth at the 2003 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro . In 2004 they took part in the Olympic Games in Athens , but were eliminated as the bottom of the group after the preliminary round. Nygaard then played successfully on the AVP tour until 2010, u. a. with Dax Holdren , John Hyden and John Mayer .
