Jeffrey Malcolm "Jeff" Stork (born July 8, 1960 in Longview , Washington ) is a former American volleyball player and Olympic champion.

Career

Stork played at Pepperdine University, California, from 1981 to 1984 . Then the setter played in the US national team . He won the World Cup in Japan in 1985 , was world champion in France in 1986 and in 1987 he won the Pan American Games in Indianapolis . In 1988 he won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul . In the following years Stork also played in the Italian professional league. With Maxicono Parma he was club world champion , Italian champion and cup winner as well as European cup winner in the 1989/90 season . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he won the bronze medal. In the 1992/93 season he again won the Club World Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup with Mediolanum Milan . In 1996 Stork took part in the Olympic Games for the third time , but was eliminated in Atlanta after the preliminary round. After that he was active for another season in Greece at Olympiacos Piraeus .

In the early 1990s, Stork also played beach volleyball in national four-on-four tournaments. After his active time, he was initially an assistant trainer at Pepperdine University . Since 2002 he has been the head coach at California State University, Northridge .

In 2012 Jeff Stork was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Private

Stork lives in Topanga , California . He is married and has a daughter and two sons.
