Jeffrey Alwang
Jeffrey R. Alwang is an American agricultural economist . He is a professor at Virginia Tech .
Life
Alwang first studied political science at Pennsylvania State University ( BA , 1978). After graduating, he spent several years in Paraguay with the Peace Corps before returning to Penn State University for an MS (1985) in Agricultural Economics. His doctorate took place in 1989 at Cornell University . He has been with Virginia Tech since 1989.

Alwang's research interests are in rural development at home and abroad.
