biography

Jeffrey Foskett's musical career began on February 9, 1964 when he first saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show . After this experience, he begged his parents to buy him a guitar for his birthday, which the parents eventually did. Jeff played in various bands until high school. The first of his bands to cause a stir were "The Pranks". This was a group founded by Jeff, Randell Kirsch and Bo Fox in the late 1970s. This band soon had a large following across California .

1980 Foskett left this band, however, because he received an offer from the Beach Boys to go on tour with them. Jeff was supposed to replace singer and guitarist Carl Wilson on this tour , who was on the road at the time to present his solo album. Foskett, an ardent Beach Boys fan, immediately accepted the offer. Two years later, Wilson returned as a permanent member of the Beach Boys and offered Foskett to continue his work as a member of the ensemble. Foskett continued to tour around the world with the Beach Boys until 1991. He also played and sang on two Beach Boys studio albums.

In 1991 he left the Beach Boys to perform as a soloist. Foskett played concerts and wrote songs with his backing band for five years until he was able to release his first album in 1996. However, this publication was limited to Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

His solo career was successful. His song "Fish" climbed to third place in the Japanese charts. There were also two other top 10 successes in Japan and New Zealand, where he played in front of an audience that was beyond the 10,000 mark. From 1996 until today Foskett has released a total of nine studio albums, of which only the last release - Stars in the sand - is also available in his home country.

In 1998, Foskett received an offer from Brian Wilson to become the musical director of Wilson's band. Jeff also accepted this offer and postponed his solo career. Since then he has been an integral part of Brian Wilson's tour and studio band. He takes part in world tours, plays and sings on Brian Wilson's solo albums and also publishes other solo albums, of which he composes, arranges and produces the music.

In 2012 he completed a world tour with the Beach Boys as part of their 50th Anniversary Tour. He also appears on the Beach Boys' new studio album "That's Why God Made The Radio". Foskett does the falsetto vocals both in the studio and live, which was originally contributed by Brian Wilson . Wilson, like other singers, is no longer able to sing the high octaves due to his age.

Jeffrey Foskett has played and sang in his career - either on stage or in the studio - for Paul McCartney , Ringo Starr , Eric Clapton , Chicago (band) , The Moody Blues , Elton John , Neil Young , Willie Nelson , Tom Petty , The Everly Brothers , America , Three Dog Night , the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson . His voice and guitar playing are featured on over 30 gold and platinum CDs.
