Elena Proskurakova

Jelena Borisovna Proskurakowa (born April 19, 1985 in Karakol ) is a former Kyrgyz judoka .

The 1.70 m tall Proskurakowa was the 2004 Kyrgyz junior light heavyweight champion. In 2007 and 2008 she was the Kyrgyz middleweight champion in the adult class. At the 2008 Olympic Games , she competed in the light heavyweight division. In her first fight she lost to the later Olympic champion Yang Xiuli from China by Ippon after 52 seconds. In the first fight of the round of hope, she lost to the Mongolian Pürewdschargalyn Lchamdegd .

In 2009 Proskurakova moved to the light middleweight division, in this weight class she was Kyrgyz champion from 2009 to 2011. In 2011 she achieved her best international placement with fifth place at the Asian Championships. After finishing second at the Kyrgyz championships in 2012, she ended her international career.
