The Jenisch House is a listed patrician house on the church square of the St. Mang church . The house with a high pitched roof at St.-Mang-Platz 1 is directly connected to the Red House , which also belonged to the Jenisch family .

Description and history

The Jenisch House dates from the 17th century and has four floors. The house, bought by Johann Jacob von Jennisch at the beginning of the 18th century, was rebuilt inside in 1760. The stepped gable was exchanged for a volute gable in the 19th century. From the years 1959/60 the Jenisch House was completely gutted with the old town renovation. Only the outer walls were preserved. During these structural measures, a portal was also offset laterally from the central axis.

On the ground floor there were cross ridges in the middle passage with stuccoed leaf ribs from the beginning of the 17th century. Two iron doors were located under a piece of entablature with a rosette frieze . The single-flight staircase had an oval openwork wooden parapet from around 1800.

On the first floor there was a frame piece in the anteroom and a leaf stick in the north room. On the second floor there were circles around rosettes with a door frame with pilasters from 1600 in the anteroom. On the third floor there was an anteroom with frame stucco and also door frames as on the second floor. The 17th century parapet had round balusters and sawn tendrils. There were small, turned pillars in the four-story attic.

The structure has four window axes. The gable is equipped with an inset painting. The cellar vault has an intersection of 3: 3 barrel vaults .
