Jenkin Ridge is a 400 m high and rocky ridge on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises between the Challenger and Mary Powell glaciers .
It is named after the botanist John J. Jenkin, who worked in the area in 1980 as part of a campaign by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
