Jenna Louise Dreyer (born February 7, 1986 in Port Elizabeth ) is a former South African water diver . She started in artificial jumping from the 1-meter and 3-meter board and in 10-meter tower diving. She took part in two Olympic Games .
Dreyer started diving at the age of five with the Neptune Diving Club in her hometown. At the age of 15, she moved to the United States, where she found better training conditions. Dreyer finally fought her first international title fights at the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona , where she competed in all three individual competitions, but was eliminated in each of the preliminaries. The following year she took part in her first Olympic Games in Athens . From the 3-meter board she made it to the semi-finals and finished 17th, from the 10-meter tower she was eliminated in the preliminary fight. In the following years Dreyer concentrated on jumping. At the 2005 World Cup in Montreal , she reached the semi-finals from the 3-meter board and thus achieved her best World Cup result. The following World Cup in Melbourne was less successful , where Dreyer was eliminated from the 1-meter and 3-meter board in the preliminary fight. Also at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Dreyer only finished 28th in the preliminary fight from the 3-meter board. After the games, she ended her active career.
Dreyer studied at the University of Miami between 2004 and 2008 , she started under trainer Ableman Randy for the university's sports team, the Hurricanes . Dreyer achieved a total of two medals at college championships.
