Jennifer Abbot (born May 1, 1998 in Johannesburg ) is a former South African cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2015, Jennifer Abbot became a three-time South African junior champion on the track , and the following year she won five titles. Then she and Jessica Brown were invited by the UCI World Cycling Association to a training camp in the World Cycling Center in Aigle , Switzerland, in order to prepare for the 2016 UCI Track World Championships for Juniors, which will also take place there . At the World Cup, she started in the sprint and finished 23rd, in the 500-meter time trial she was 25th. In January 2017, she took part in a UCI training camp for road cycling in Egypt .

Abbot won six medals at the 2017 African Track Championships : in the team sprint , she won the team sprint together with Bernette Beyers and in the team pursuit with Claudia Gnudi , Danielle van Niekerk and Julie Lee . She was also the South African elite champion in the team pursuit, together with Claudia Gnudi, Victoria Myburgh and Danielle van Niekerk.
