Jennifer Berry (born January 13, 1983 in Houston , Texas ) is an American beauty queen. She was Miss America in 2006 .

Berry was born in Texas but grew up in Tulsa , Oklahoma . After high school, she studied elementary education at the University of Oklahoma and is pursuing a master’s degree in this subject .

In 2005 she was voted the most beautiful in her state, so Miss Oklahoma. On January 21, 2006, she then won the Miss America freestyle in front of the competitors from Georgia and Alabama . Berry was the fifth Miss Oklahoma to be named Miss America. She was also the first Miss America that was not voted in Atlantic City , but at the Aladdin Casino Hotel in Las Vegas .

Berry won the competition's talent competition with a dance performance to William Joseph's piece Within , scored points in the interview in which she described a formative experience of her childhood, and continued to impress the jury with her appealing appearance and her resolute pronunciation against drunk driving.
