The Jennings Promontory is a striking and rocky promontory on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It lies on the eastern edge of the Amery Ice Shelf between the Branstetter Rocks and the Kreitzer Glacier .
The American cartographer John Hobbie Roscoe (1919-2007) mapped the foothills in 1952 using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946-1947). Roscoe named it after Lieutenant James C. Jennings, co-pilot and navigator on Operation Highjump flights for aerial photography in the foothills area.
