Jenny Wanda Barkmann (* 1922, † 4. July 1946 in Gdansk ) was a German concentration camp - guard .

Life

Jenny Barkmann became a guard in the Stutthof concentration camp in 1944 . When the Red Army reached Stutthof, they tried to flee, but were arrested at the Wrzeszcz (Langfuhr) station near Danzig. Together with John Pauls, Elisabeth Becker , Gerda Steinhoff , Wanda Klaff , Ewa Paradies and four Polish “Kapos” she was sentenced to death in the first Stutthof trial .

Her public execution by hanging took place on July 4, 1946 together with ten other convicts on the hill Biskupia Górka (German: Bischofsberg) not far from Gdansk .
