Jens-Peter Behrend
Jens-Peter Behrend (* 1945 ) is a German screenwriter , film producer , director and theater director.
Behrend studied sociology , American studies and theater studies and was an editor at Sender Freie Berlin from 1974 to 1980 . Since then he has worked as a freelance scriptwriter and director of numerous documentary films and television plays , including for ARD and ZDF . He directed several episodes in productions such as Terra X , Sphinx - Secrets of History (1 episode, 1996), Imperium, The Bible riddle, Löwenzahn (8 episodes, 2006-2009) and Siebenstein (1988). As a producer, Behrend worked among other things for Tatort (5 episodes, 1977-1984), where he also hired himself as a screenwriter (2 episodes, 1976-1982). In 1979, he and his brother Rainer Behrend took over the management of the Berlin Vaganten stage , which he continued from 2009 to 2019 after the death of Rainer Behrend.
