Jens Fuge (* 1963 ) is a German journalist and author. He wrote books about Leipzig football as well as the rocker and motorcycle scene in various countries.

Life

Jens Fuge was born in Leipzig in 1963 . At the age of sixteen he completed an apprenticeship as an elevator fitter, which he completed in 1982. A year later, as a supporter of BSG Chemie Leipzig, he illegally produced a fan newspaper. The Stasi then threatened him with a year imprisonment unless he signed a declaration of commitment as an IM for the State Security. Fuge bowed to pressure in May 1983, but resigned the statement in November 1984. In the meantime, the Stasi had determined that Fuge showed no willingness to cooperate and was "worthless" for the hoped-for cooperation. In one assessment he was characterized as "Western decadent" and criticized his "blatant political and ideological ambiguities". "He consciously tried to deceive his managerial staff." Later he organized a fan club meeting with the Bonner SC in the GDR . Since then there has not only been one file of the perpetrator but also one of Jens Fuge's victims. His identity card was confiscated and he was involved in opposition activities under the umbrella of the church. Born in Leipzig, he applied to leave Germany in 1985, which was granted a few months before the fall of the Berlin Wall . Fuge moved to Karlsruhe and worked as a parcel deliverer, fitter and sports journalist. In 1992 he returned to Leipzig, worked for the Leipziger Volkszeitung and founded the Westend press agency in 1993. His signature on the declaration of commitment came out in 2003. His agency was subsequently deprived of the Leipzig Olympic bid and Leipziger Freiheit campaigns. The latter was reassigned to him after an assessment by the Saxon State Commissioner for the Records of the State Security Service of the former GDR, Michael Beleites.

Since 1993, the journalist has held various functions at the soccer club FC Sachsen Leipzig : supervisory board member, member of the board of the club "Club der 100", member of the presidium (1997–2000), honorary marketing manager and again on the board (2009–2010). He gave up this office because of excessive workload, another reason was that his goal of reunifying the Leutzscher Verein Sachsen und Chemie had failed and a positive development was no longer considered possible by him. Since then, Jens Fuge has mainly been creating reports on his motorcycle trips to various countries and publishing travel reports in the Backroad Diaries publishing house. He often traveled to the USA and Cuba, he also wrote reports on the motorcycle and rocker scene and others. a. in the "BikersNews" magazine. For this he used his many extraordinary trips, which he made with his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and which took him to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Russia, Norway, Cuba, USA and Canada. He achieved extraordinary reports when, for example, he visited the founders of the Hells Angels Johnny Angel and Sonny Barger in their homes in Arizona or drove through Cuba with Che Guevara's son . The trilogy about "Chemie Leipzig and its fans" is the author's latest project and deals with the club's fan scene in an extraordinary way. Above all, the reasons for the proverbial rebellion of chemistry fans in GDR times are examined, as well as the influences and actions of the state security on fan clubs and fans. Using the example of BSG Chemie, a piece of youth culture in the GDR is shown.
