Jens Mühling

Jens Mühling (* 1976 in Siegen ) is a German writer and journalist .

Life

Mühling studied literature in Berlin and Norwich , England, among others with WG Sebald . He worked for the Moscow German newspaper in Russia for two years before becoming editor of the Berliner Tagesspiegel . His reports and essays have received several awards.

As a travel writer, Mühling primarily writes about Eastern Europe. His first book "My Russian Adventure" (published in English under the title "A Journey into Russia") was nominated for the Dolman Travel Book of the Year Award in Great Britain. This was followed by the report book “Black Earth - A Journey through Ukraine”. With “Berlin - Walks through all 96 districts”, Mühling portrayed the lesser known corners of his hometown. For “Heavy Seas - A Journey Around the Black Sea” he circled the coast of the Black Sea for a year .
