Jens Massel

Jens Massel (* 1969 in Cologne ) is a German musician who is best known for his publications under the pseudonyms Senking and Kandis . His music belongs to the genre of electronic music and includes ambient , clicks & cuts and dub techno .

Live and act

From 1990 onwards, Massel gained his first musical experience as a bass player in various punk and indie bands. From 1995 he turned increasingly to electronic music . In 1996 his first release appeared under the pseudonym Kandis on the Cologne label Karaoke Kalk . Later, the title of the first EP Senking was used for an independent project and since then, Massel has mainly published under the alias Senking

From 1996 Massel was a member of the Geneva group alongside Oliver Brand and Olaf Karnik , whose instrumental music picked up on influences from ambient , funk , indie and techno and released them on Compost Records , among others . The project album Visor with pieces by Massel, Jörg Follert and Tom Steinle was released on Tomlab in 1997 .

After further publications as Senking on Karaoke Kalk, Massel first came into contact with the Chemnitz label Raster-Noton in 1999 . With Untitled / 20 'To 2000.June , Massel's contribution to the series 20' to 2000 - twelve releases about the cutting edge of the millenium , he made his debut on the label.

In addition, Massel published under the project name Fumble and together with Michael Cramm as Poto & Cabengo .
