Jens Schaefermeyer

Jens Schaefermeyer (born May 9, 1975 in Paderborn ) is a former German basketball player. The 2.00-meter-tall winger made 24 appearances for the Oldenburger TB (later EWE Baskets Oldenburg ) in the basketball league .

career

Schaefermeyer comes from the youth department of the Paderborn Baskets , for whose men's team he played in the 2nd basketball league from the mid-1990s . In 1999, the powerful winger moved to league rivals Oldenburg TB , with whom he made promotion to the basketball league in his first season . In his two Bundesliga years with OTB (renamed EWE Baskets Oldenburg in 2001 ) he was a supplementary player and in 2002 moved back to the second division for TSV Lesum (later Bremen Roosters ). There he scored an average of 12.3 points per encounter during the 2002/03 season.

In 2003/04 Schaefermeyer played again for his home club Paderborn Baskets in the 2nd Bundesliga, from 2004 to 2006 for the regional league team of the Oldenburg TB.

In 2006 he worked as a manager for the Bremen Roosters and returned to the field for the 2007/08 season in Oldenburg's regional league team. In April 2008 he ended his playing career. From 2014 to 2016, however, Schaefermeyer was again active on the performance level and played for the second men's team of Telekom Baskets Bonn in the 1st Regionalliga West.
