Jeong Yu-jeong (born August 15, 1966 ) is a South Korean author .

Jeong first worked as a nurse for five years before working as a state health insurance expert for nine years. She dreamed of writing, but her parents were against it. Her uncle was a playwright and died in poverty in his 1940s. But Jeong persevered, repeatedly submitting her manuscripts and won the Segye Youth Literary Award in 2007 at the age of 41 with her novel Nae Insaeng-ui Spring Camp . Two years later she received the Segye Ilbo Literature Prize for Nae Simjang-eul Sswara .

She writes novels in the thriller genre . Two of her works have been filmed: Nae Insaeng-ui Spring Camp was filmed in 2015 by Mun Che-yong with Lee Min-ki and Yeo Jin-goo and 7-nyeon-ui Bam was filmed by Choo Chang-min with Ryu Seung-ryong in 2018 and Jang Dong-gun adapted. The latter title also appeared in German under Seven Years of Night . Jeong's novel Jong-ui Giwon was also translated into German under the title The Good Son . The work was inspired by a real case and finally also adapted in a webtoon .
