Jeremias Hoesch (also called Jeremias the Younger or Jeremias II to distinguish it from his father ) (* around 1610 in Aachen (unsecured); † 1653 in Warsaw ) was the first iron industrialist of the Hoesch family .

He was the son of the father of the same name (1568–1643) and mother Agnes Hansen (1579–1653), daughter of a copper master . Like the copper master families Peltzer , Schleicher , Amya , Prym and others, he was forced to permanently emigrate from Aachen to neighboring Stolberg due to the disadvantages and reenactments of the re-emerging Aachen religious unrest, where he initially owned the Kupferhof Alte around 1610 Krautlade took over. Hoesch, jun. Initially worked in his father's copper and brass business, but quickly became self-employed .

In 1637 Hoesch began to acquire shares in smelters and iron hammers in the Vichtal near Stolberg. In 1638 he married his wife Katharina Prym (1610–1681), daughter of Wilhelm Prym, a cuirassier in the imperial service. Among other things, the sons of Jeremias III were born from the marriage. (1641–1716), whose descendants stayed on Junkershammer, and Wilhelm (1642–1704), who was later awarded the Platenhammer .

From around 1645 Hoesch was able to exert considerable influence on the Zweifaller Kirchhütte , Cronenhütte , Vichter Hütte and the Junkershammer . By relocating two huts that were completely under his control near the Junkershammer, Hoesch increased the level of production concentration. In addition, he set up two horizontal hammers and an iron cutting mill there for further processing . The latter was the first of its kind in the region. The mill was in operation when the water power for the hammer mills was not needed. Hoesch had the iron cut by the mill processed by in- house nail smiths.

This created an integrated mining industrial company there. This included iron production, the production of semi-finished goods and the manufacture of finished goods. In the following years, the Vichter Hütte also came into full possession of Hoesch.
