Jerney Kaagman (born July 9, 1947 in The Hague ), actually Christina Henriette Kaagman , is a Dutch pop singer .

Life

Kaagman attended high school in Leidschendam-Voorburg , where she was a member of the school choir. In 1969 she became the singer of the band Earth & Fire, which had been founded the year before . In the spring of 1980 the band had their greatest success with the title Weekend.

After the band broke up for the first time in 1983, they released two solo albums. She was also featured in the first Dutch edition of Playboy in 1983 .

Kaagman has been with the Dutch musicians' union BV Pop since 1987 . She was also a member of the jury for the Dutch casting show Idols from 2003 to 2008 .

On a joint tour with another well-known Dutch band from the 1970s, Focus , Kaagman met bassist Bert Ruiter, whom she brought to Earth & Fire and with whom she has lived since 1974. You are not married.

On October 18, 2012, she announced on the Dutch talk show Pauw & Witteman that she had Parkinson's disease .
