Jerry H. Bilik

Jerry H. Bilik (born October 7, 1933 in New Rochelle , New York ) is an American composer .

He studied music at the University of Michigan with Ross Lee Finney, among others, and graduated in 1955. Until 1958 he worked as an arranger at the West Point Military Academy Band in West Point . He then went on to study privately with Tibor Serly , a student of Béla Bartók and author of a new music theory called Modus Lascivus , which describes a certain ranking of keys. From 1962 to 1968 he was a lecturer at the Michigan University School of Music . Since then he has been working as a freelance composer and arranger.

In the United States of America he became known for his transcriptions and compositions for wind band, his vocal works and his publication on arranging. He arranged music for various television series, including Starsky & Hutch , Charlie's Angels and for the show Disney on Ice .
