Jerry Martin is a jazz and new age composer, best known for his work in the field of video games . He created the soundtracks for the game series The Sims and SimCity .

biography

Jerry Martin began taking music lessons when he was ten and played guitar and keyboard in various ensembles in high school and college . Martin graduated from California State University in Hayward (California) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition.

He then began further studies at the Center For Contemporary Music at Mills College in Oakland (California), where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts. In 1985 he founded his own production company Musicontrol , with which he composed and produced music for various purposes (video games, television and radio advertising) from 1985 to 1995. From 1996 Martin was employed as Studio Audio Director and Lead Composer at Maxis , now part of Electronic Arts . From 1996 to 2004 he also produced the soundtracks for the successful game series The Sims and SimCity .

In 2005 Martin founded a new company, Jerry Martin Music , with which he currently carries out various professional and private music projects.
