The Jerusalem Church is an Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Bavarian State Church in Taufkirchen near Munich . It is located in the local area Am Wald .

history

The first Protestant services in the traditionally Catholic Taufkirchen were celebrated from 1963, initially in the Catholic village church of St. John the Baptist . In 1971 the Evangelical Lutheran Church Congregation Taufkirchen was founded on today's property on Eichenstrasse and the first services were held in today's kindergarten, which was built in 1970. In 1979 the foundation stone of today's community center was laid, which was inaugurated on February 22, 1981. The plans for today's church come from the architects Franz Lichtblau and Ludwig Bauer. The building has been called the Jerusalem Church since 1988 .

Building description

The towerless building can only be recognized as a church from the outside by a simple cross on the outer wall. The building complex, consisting of a church, several parish halls, group rooms, a parish office and parsonage includes an inner courtyard, where the main entrance to the church is also located. The rectangular church space itself is closed off by two steep monopitch roofs, the highest point of which is reached on the face of the chancel or the opposite wall. On the south side there is a small room-high niche, which was originally planned as a baptistery, since 1987 it has housed the Jann organ. The church building is plastered inside and out with rough plaster.

The small community hall on the side opposite the organ is opened to the main room for the service. In the case of larger festive services, the large parish hall is also opened so that the space corresponds to an angle church when used in this way . The only windows in the main room are to the right of the altar and above the opening to the large parish hall.

Gaming table

The organ of the church was built in 1987 as Opus 134 by the organ building company Georg Jann from Allkofen near Laberweinting and has 11 stops on two manuals and a pedal . The game table is partially set up under the pipework with a view of the altar. The playing and stop actions are fully mechanical.
