Jerzy Maculewicz
Jerzy Maculewicz OFMConv (born May 30, 1955 in Daszew ) is the Apostolic Administrator of Uzbekistan .
Life
Jerzy Maculewicz joined the religious order of the Minorites , made his profession on October 2, 1994 and the Bishop of Sosnowiec , Adam Smigielski SDB , ordained him on June 22, 1996 as a priest . Pope John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Uzbekistan and Titular Bishop of Nara on April 1, 2005 .
The Cardinal Secretary of State and Cardinal Dean , Angelo Cardinal Sodano , consecrated him bishop on May 14 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Robert Sarah , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Józef Wesołowski , Apostolic Nuncio in Kazakhstan , Tajikistan , Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
