Jerzy Schindler

Jerzy Schindler (born February 5, 1923 in Zakopane , † May 10, 1992 in Krakow ) was a Polish ski racer .

After attending secondary school, Schindler completed training as a geodesist . As an alpine ski racer, he competed for his home club TS Wisła Zakopane from 1937 to 1939 and from 1946 to 1958 after the end of the Second World War. At the national level, Schindler remained without any notable success. The greatest success of his career was his participation in the Winter Olympics in St. Moritz in 1948 , where he was far behind the international competition in the downhill and only finished 67th in the end.

Schindler also came third at the Polish ski jumping championships in 1947 in Zakopane .

Schindler was widowed and had a son.
