María Jesús Montero
María Jesús Montero Cuadrado (born February 4, 1966 in Seville ) is a Spanish politician and member of the PSOE . She has been Finance Minister of the Kingdom of Spain in the Sánchez cabinet since June 2018 .
Life
The daughter of a teacher couple has a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Seville and a degree in management from EADA Business School Barcelona . In addition to various activities in the Spanish health sector , she is also a member of the Seville province of the regional parliament of Andalusia .
From 2002 she was Deputy Minister of Health and from 2004 to 2012 Andalusian Minister of Health . After only one year in the office of the Minister of Health, she moved to the Andalusian Ministry of Finance in 2013. She held this position until 2018. On June 7, 2018, she became Minister of Finance for the Spanish Crown.
Montero is a married mother of two boys.
