Jesse Anne Shugg (born May 2, 1992 in Burlington , Ontario ) is a Canadian - Filipino soccer player .
Life
Shugg attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Burlington , Ontario for five years . In the fall of 2010, she left Canada and went to Florida Atlantic University to study , before moving to the University of Miami after two years .
Career

Shuggg began her football career in the youth teams of the Burlington Youth Soccer Club , where she played for the Sting 1992 team. In autumn 2007 she started her career with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Burlington. After graduating from secondary school in spring 2010, she moved to the USA and enrolled at Florida Atlantic University. In two years with the FAU Owls, she scored 15 goals in 34 games. She was then transferred to the University of Miami in fall 2012, where she played on the Miami Hurricanes Soccer Team. After graduating from the University of Miami in spring 2013, she signed for Kitchener-Waterloo United FC in the W-League .
National team
Shugg played internationally for the Canadian U-20 national soccer team before moving to the Philippine Football Association. Since 2012 she has been part of the national soccer team of the Philippines , her parents' home country. On April 23, 2013, she was appointed to the Philippine national soccer team for the first time. She made her debut on May 22, 2013 against the Iranian Women's National Soccer Team and scored a brace in her debut. In her second international match she scored her third international goal, in a 4-0 win over Bangladesh.
