Jessica Danielle Andrews (born December 29, 1983 in Huntingdon, Tennessee ) is an American country and pop singer.

Career

At the age of 15 years, in mid-1999, Andrews debuted in the country charts of Billboard of the single I Will Be There for You , from her published in the same year debut album Heart Shaped World , which on DreamWorks Records was released. The ballad was also part of the soundtrack to the cartoon The Prince of Egypt . For this she was nominated as Newcomer of the Year at the ACM Awards .

Andrews celebrated her greatest success by far in 2001 with the song Who I Am , her only number one in the country charts. The title track of their second studio album, which went gold in the US, was also a huge hit in the US pop charts, reaching number 28. It would remain their only top 40 success. Andrews was again nominated for Newcomer of the Year ( Horizon Award ), but this time at the CMA Awards.

A third album, Now , was released in 2003, but fell below expectations commercially. With There's More to Me Than You , the album contained their sixth and final top 40 hit in the country charts.

In 2005 the DreamWorks label was closed. A planned fourth album, Ain't That Life , was not released. However, two singles, The Marrying Kind and Summer Girl , also flopped in the run-up. The album was released digitally in 2016 on portals such as Spotify and iTunes. Andrews himself commented on this on Twitter, saying that the recordings had been stolen from her.

In late 2008, Andrews signed with the short-lived Carolwood Records label, which was part of Lyric Street Records . When this was closed in 2009, Andrews found himself again without a record deal.

As a result, singles appeared occasionally, but so far did not bring the comeback they had hoped for.
