Bret Michaels
Bret Michaels aka Bret Michael Sychak (born March 15, 1963 in Butler , Pennsylvania ) is an American singer, actor, director, screenwriter and producer. He became known as the singer of the glam metal band Poison . He is also successful as a solo artist.
He was seen on the reality TV show Rock of Love and its successors, which ran on MTV in Germany .
Career
Michaels, who grew up with two sisters, was diagnosed with diabetes as a child . He openly addresses his illness. He started playing guitar as a teenager and formed his first band called Paris in 1983 in Harrisburg . In 1984 the musicians moved to Los Angeles and immediately renamed themselves Poison .
From 1996 to 1999 he ran the production company Sheen / Michaels Entertainment together with Charlie Sheen . He has worked as an executive producer, producer or actor in supporting roles on the publications. " A Letter from Death Row " with Martin Sheen, for whom Michaels played the leading role, recorded the soundtrack, directed and also wrote the script, should be emphasized here .
From 2007 to 2010 he took over the role of the main actor for reality TV formats again. He also produced the 3 seasons of Rock of Love and its spin-offs. He also appeared as a candidate on Celebrity Apprentice and as a juror on the Nashville Star talent show. At the same time as his television presence, he entered the US charts as a solo artist.
More recently, health problems have been reported with Michaels. It was announced on his website that he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in April 2010 and a minor stroke in May of that year . In addition, a "hole" was diagnosed in his heart ( persistent foramen ovale ).
In April 2020 Michaels took part as Banana in the third season of the US-American branch of The Masked Singer and reached the seventh of 18 places.
