In addition to his solo career, he was a guest musician on albums of numerous well-known artists and for three years a member of the glam metal band Poison , with whom he recorded the album Crack a Smile… And More .

biography

Saraceno was born to Alex Saraceno and his wife, both parents play musical instruments. The music-loving father listened to records every day before going to work. As a result, his son got in touch with music from such diverse artists as Iron Maiden , Santana or the Allman Brothers at an early stage . At the age of nine, blues got his first guitar; at thirteen, after an accident, he began to invest more time in the instrument and continued to develop his style, while also working in the music shop of a friend of his parents' friends.

Saraceno's future manager, Brian Cohen, also owned a music business. At the request of Alex Saraceno, Cohen listened to the blues guitar playing and was impressed. He arranged an appointment for him with the manager of Ibanez , who was also enthusiastic and gave Saraceno a new guitar. This guitar was the first demo recordings that Cohen sent to Michael Bolton . Bolton was interested and let the seventeen year old Saraceno come into the studio, where he recorded the song Emotional Fire with Bolton and Desmond Child , which was not included on Bolton's next album, Soul Provider . Instead, it appeared on Cher's album Heart of Stone in 1989 , and Saraceno's guitar parts were retained.

In 1989 Saraceno had also released his first album of his own called Never Look Back , and he also played for Taylor Dayne on their album Can't Fight Fate . He received the offer to accompany Jack Bruce on his upcoming tour, which Ginger Baker joined shortly after the tour began . In addition to Bruce's solo material, they also played a lot of Cream material.

The band Poison had separated from their guitarist CC DeVille in 1991 and was looking for a replacement to record their next album. Applicants for the post included Richie Kotzen and Blues Saraceno; the group decided on Kotzen, with whom they recorded the 1993 album Native Tongue . However, after the guitarist got involved in a relationship with the drummer's girlfriend Rikki Rockett, he was fired. Poison contacted Saraceno as a replacement for the upcoming tour . He then became a member of the group. With her he recorded the album Crack a Smile ... And More in 1994 , which was put on hold by the record company. Instead, the compilation album Greatest Hits 1986-1996 was enriched with two tracks (Lay Your Body Down and Sexual Thing) .

After ending his engagement with Poison, Saraceno began building a career as a composer for film and television shows, commercials and series. For a US music publisher he created a catalog from which television series such as Grey's Anatomy , Desperate Housewives and Dead Zone were taken . His music was also featured in the film Dallas 362 . He also developed effects pedals (brand: “Dirty Boy”) for guitarists together with his father . He attempted a return to rock music in 2000 with the Transmission OK project, but there was no commercial success.

Since the 2010s, Saraceno has devoted itself more to blues and country music , especially in the directions of swamp rock , southern gothic and alternative country .
