CC DeVille (actually Bruce Anthony Johannesson , born May 14, 1962 in Brooklyn , New York City , United States ) is the lead guitarist of the glam metal band Poison .

Career

DeVille had been interested in music since he saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show when he was two . He started playing the guitar at the age of five.

He listened to Led Zeppelin , Black Sabbath , The Rolling Stones , David Bowie , Aerosmith , Van Halen , Cheap Trick , Queen and above all Kiss . At the age of 17 he founded the band Lace in New York. For them he also composed the song Talk Dirty to Me , which later appeared on Poison's first album, Look What the Cat Dragged In .

After a short time at New York University, where he studied music theory, he moved to Los Angeles in 1981. There he played in the band Roxx Regime, which renamed itself to Stryper shortly after DeVilles left .

He then switched to Poison, with whom he recorded the hit albums Look What the Cat Dragged In , Open Up and Say ... Ahh! and recorded Flesh & Blood . After an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1991, he fought with Poison singer Bret Michaels , which led to DeVilles' exit.

Together with Ty Longley, Krys Baratto and Francis Ruiz he founded the band Samantha 7.

From 1996 he was in contact with Poison again. In 1999 the band reunited for the Greatest Hits Reunion Tour . Several tours followed with other glam stars such as Ratt , Great White , LA Guns and Cinderella .

In 2005 and 2006 DeVille appeared in the television series South of Nowhere , where he played the role of Raife Davies. He later appeared in the reality series The Surreal Life (2006) and its spin-off The Surreal Life: Fame Games (2007).

Private life

DeVille is in a relationship with Shannon Malon. The couple have one son.
