Jesús del Muro López (born November 30, 1937 in Guadalajara ) is a former Mexican football player who acted in the defense . Immediately after the end of his active career, he worked as a trainer for almost 30 years .

Del Muro began his professional career in 1957 with Atlas Guadalajara , where he was under contract for eight years. For the 1965/66 season he moved to the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz before joining the CD Cruz Azul , which matured into the best team in Mexico in those years. With the exception of the 1969/70 season, in which he was under contract with Deportivo Toluca FC , he played exclusively for Cruz Azul until the end of his active career in the 1971/72 season .

National team

Jesús del Muro made his debut in the Mexican national team in the opening game of the 1958 World Cup against hosts Sweden, which was lost 3-0. He also played the other two games in Mexico at the 1958 World Cup and all games at the 1962 World Cup . In these six games he always occupied the position of right full-back . He played his seventh and last World Cup game at the 1966 World Cup against hosts England (2-0) as a central defender .

Trainer

Immediately after the end of his active career, he had coaching engagements at Toluca , Pachuca and Jalisco , before coaching various youth teams over a period of more than 20 years.
