Yevgenia Maximovna Rudneva
Yevgenia Maximowna Rudnewa ( Russian Евгения Максимовна Руднева ; born December 24, 1920 in Berdyansk ; † April 9, 1944 near Kerch ) was a Soviet bomber pilot .
Life
During the Second World War , she did military service with the night witches , which consisted of women only , who flew combat missions at night with simple Polikarpow Po-2 biplanes .
Yevgenia Rudneva was shot down on her 645th mission.
Posthumously she was given the title Hero of the Soviet Union . The asteroid (1907) Rudneva is named after her.
