Jewhenija Semeniwna Miroschnytschenko ( Ukrainian Євгенія Семенівна Мірошниченко , Russian Евгения Семёновна Мирошниченко / Yevgeniya Semyonovna Miroshnichenko * 12. June 1931 in Perwoje Sowetskoje , Oblast Kharkov , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ; † 27. April 2009 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian opera singer.

Life

Yevhenia Miroshnychenko graduated from the Kiev Conservatory in 1957 ; In 1961 she was trained at La Scala in Milan . From 1957 to 1990 she was a soloist at the Kiev Opera. She has taught at the Kiev Conservatory since 1980 , and in 1990 she was appointed professor.

She was a People's Artist of the USSR and a hero of Ukraine . In 2002 she set up her own foundation.

In the opera world she was known for her appearances as Venus ("Eneida" M. Lysenko), Shemahanskaya Queen ("The Golden Rooster" by Nikolai Andrejewitsch Rimski-Korsakow ), Queen of the Night ("The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ), Rosina ("The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini ), and others.
