Jewish Renewal

Jewish Renewal ( Hebrew התחדשות יהודית) is a trend in today's Judaism that tries to combine cultural and religious currents of modernity with traditional elements from Kabbalah , Hasidism and meditation . It does not see itself as an independent Jewish denomination such as B. Liberal Judaism or Orthodox Judaism and does not have a formal organizational structure, even if the ALEPH-Alliance for Jewish Renewal is a world association for Jewish communities and institutions that feel connected to the idea of ​​Jewish Renewal.

The most prominent representative of Jewish Renewal was Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi , who lived in the United States . Cantor Jalda Rebling is one of the German representatives of Jewish Renewal. In Germany there are Jewish Renewal groups in Berlin (Ohel hachidusch) and Munich (Beth Avraham).
