Jharana Das

Jharana Das (* 1945 ) is an Indian actress from the Oriya film from the 1960s to the 80s.

She comes from a Christian family and performed at AIR in Cuttack as a child . From Kelucharan Mohapatra, she learned the classical dance Odissi . She returned to radio and gained great popularity there before she made her film debut in the melodrama Amada Bata in 1964. She developed into one of the most famous actresses in the Oriya film and played the leading role in Nitai Palit's classic Malajanha (1965). In addition to her acting career, she worked in Cuttack with Doordarshan and appeared in the television programs Ghare Bhada Diya Jiya and Manisha . She directed a documentary about the Orissan politician HK Mahtob .

Jharana Das is married to the Bengali cameraman Dipak Das .
