Ji (Linfen)

Ji (Chin. 吉县; Pinyin : Jí Xiàn) is a Chinese district in the prefecture -level city of Linfen in Shanxi Province . It has an area of ​​1,779 km² and has 100,000 inhabitants.

The county stretches along the Yellow River , which acts as a border river and separates the Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces . Between Ji and Yichuan County in Shaanxi, the Yellow River forms the Hukou Waterfall . Ji is also home to the Paleolithic Shizitan site (Shizitan yizhi 柿子 滩 遗址), which has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-8) since 2001 .
