Jiang Yong
Jiang Yong 江永 ( 1681 - 1762 ; Zì : Shenxiu慎 修) was a Confucian expert on classical Confucian scripts and a phonologist during the Qing Dynasty . Jiang was from Wuyuan (now Jiangxi Province ). He studied the Confucian classics from childhood and became a famous scholar in them, especially the three books of rites and ceremonies ( Yili , Zhouli and Liji ). On the basis of detailed text research, he compiled the Lishu gangmu禮 書 綱目 (Compendium of the Books of Rites), which compensated for the shortcomings in the work Yili jingzhuan tongjie儀禮 經 傳 通 解 (General Explanations of Ceremonies and Rituals and their Commentaries) by the neoconfucian philosopher Zhu Xi tried.
