Jiangnan Shipyard
Jiangnan Shipyard is the main shipyard of Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co. Ltd in Shanghai , China . The shipyard with around 10,000 employees produces new ships, in particular various types of tankers , bulk carriers and container ships , but also carries out conversions and repairs. Furthermore, marine and special shipbuilding as well as machine and steel construction are operated and electrical equipment is manufactured.
history
The shipyard was founded in 1865 as Kiangnan Machine Manufacturer and was first renamed Kiangnan Shipbuilding Works in 1912 and Kiangnan Shipyard in 1949 . In 1996 it became state-owned and has since been called Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Company Limited . In August 2000, the nearby Qiuxin Shipyard was taken over, which continues to exist under its previous name.
Shipyard facilities
Two building docks:
- 275 m × 40 m for up to 80,000 DWT
- 242 m × 24 m for up to 35,000 DWT
Three dry docks for up to 80,000 DWT.

- Six gunboats for the US Navy in the 1920s
- 1999/2000 five NG254 FFB (Fast Feeder Containership) in cooperation with Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft
