Jig-Ai is a Goregrind band from Prague .
history
After Burák's old band broke up, he started an unnamed project with Petrasek and Brain in 2004. After a few rehearsals, the project was put on hold for lack of time. In 2005, when Štefy joined the band and replaced Petrasek on drums, they started again. They recorded four songs for the promo CD. In 2006 their first album Jig-Ai was released on Bizarre Leprous Production . After the release they gave concerts in the Czech Republic and other European countries and played on the Grind Invasion Tour in Germany. In 2007 the group prepared for the second album and went, along with a few other concerts, on the Grind Tour De Pologne through Poland. In 2008 they were on the Russian mini tour of Katalepsy and released their second album called Katana Orgy .
style
The band plays very hard Goregrind, which they mix with death metal and hardcore elements. The exclusively guttural vocals are typical for the band . The pitch of the pig squeals and growls of the singers is shifted down by a pitch shifter , which also alienates the already dehumanized sounding singing. This animal and bubbling song is also known as "Frog Noises". The name and music was influenced by Ero Guro , a particular type of hentai with a focus on female mutilation. “Jigai” is the outdated Japanese word for suicide .
